Meet Allison DeVore
Allison DeVore has had a busy first two year of belonging to the Henryetta FFA Chapter. In 2017, Henryetta Public Schools had their first ever agricultural education classes and FFA Chapter.
DeVore has taken in all of the opportunities and experiences the program has offered. The Henryetta FFA Chapter has brought home many awards for competing in various CDE and LDE contests, and this year they brought home a state award for their work cleaning up their local park.
“I have learned many different leadership qualities and a lot of information about animals and the history of FFA,” DeVore said. “I’ve mostly learned about hard work and that is the most important quality to have when belonging to a program like ours.”
DeVore has found a calling in agricultural communications, where she has written pieces for her local newspaper, various magazines, and for Raised in a Barn.
DeVore is the 2018-2019 intern for Raised in a Barn. She has wrote various pieces for the blog and created social media graphics encouraging involvement within the National FFA and 4-H Organizations.
“I am a state finalist in the agricultural communications proficiency, my SAE has been from my internship with Raised in a Barn,” DeVore said.
DeVore said she is excited to see how she has placed at the Oklahoma State FFA Convention.
“I’m anxious to see how I have placed in the agricultural communication proficiency, and I’m also excited to hangout with my friends and have fun exploring the different booths and getting to see who the new state officers are,” DeVore said.
We wish Allison the best of luck and are excited to read more of her inspiring stories!
